This album is basically a collection of my original chiptunes that I made for my own music licensing library PlayOnLoop back in about 2010-2012, which now is also available for personal listening*.

This album features tracks in many different styles, and all of them were meant to be used in actual video games (and they actually are!). The sound palette used for the tracks can be divided in three categories: 8-bit to replicate the music from Nintendo / NES, 16-bit using FM synthesis to replicate the music from SEGA Mega Drive / Genesis, 16-bit using lo-fi samples to replicate the music from Super Nintendo / Super Famicom. No real hardware or software emulation of the real sound chips has been used to make these chiptunes (and probably the right term would be fakebit), but I tried to "play by the rules" and follow the sound limitations of those consoles to give some authenticity to the sound. The tracks have been sorted by production / release date.
